'Faz Cultura' program offers new project
'Art education'
The Associação Pedagógica Dendê da Serra now is able to receive resources from the so-called 'Nota Premiada' campaign - that famous question we are asked when shopping: “CPF on the receipt?” In order to participate, you need to inscribe your CPF on the website of the campaign of the Secretaria da Fazenda (www.notapremiadabahia.ba.gov.br) and indicate the Associação Pedagógica Dendê da Serra as institution in the social area.
For each payment receipt emitted by a CPF which was registered with the indication of our social project, we receive one point, independent of the value. At the end of the month, the institutions with the highest number of points receive a part of the prize. The ones which couldn’t reach a high number of points, continue adding points until they manage to reach the necessary amount of points. The more people inscribe their CPF associated to our institution, the higher is our chance to receive a prize!
Handcrafts subject
This project aims to sustain a part of the artistic educational process of Dendê da Serra School with specific resources for wages of the teachers of the handcrafts subject (for more information download the project in Portuguese).
Anthroposophy views the human being as participant and creator of his own culture. In this sense, all subjects and the whole school life is permeated with artistic activities, in which students, teachers and parents take part in together. The practical and handmade elements are valued. We support the self-made and thus more conscious production of objects rather than the consumption of ready made industrial products.
The process of persistence, care and perfection involved in producing an object with one´s own hands is an extremely gratifying experience which enforces the feeling of autonomy, safety and confidence in one’s own capacity to cope with difficulties and reach goals.
Refurbishment of the second floor of the Dendê da Serra Kindergarten in the village of Serra Grande
The goal of this project is the creation of a community space which supports the school’s desire to further connect with the local low-income communities of the village. The place is located on a strategical point with easy access, nearby housings and with a lot of people circulating.
This communitarian space shall be used for external activities, but the Associação Pedagógica Dendê da Serra will interact as a bridge between local groups and institutions from Serra Grande. In this new space, courses, workshops, formations, working groups, meetings and so on, can take place. Currently, there is a lack of similar spaces in the village’s community.
